Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 5. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On November 30 a RUSTY BLACKBIRD was reported from White City. On December 3
a female RUSTY BLACKBIRD and two TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were among the large
blackbird flock along South River Road north of Vancouver, WA. An adult
SLATY-BACKED GULL was at Siletz Bay November 27. The BLUE JAY continues to
be seen in Springfield.

RED PHALAROPES and BROWN PELICANS are still being seen along the coast.
Three ROCK SANDPIPERS were on the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay November 30. On
that day 90 ANCIENT MURRELETS flew past Boiler Bay. A PRAIRIE FALCON was
south of Tillamook November 30. On December 4 several SHORT-TAILED
SHEARWATERS, FULMARS, and one SABINE'S GULL were at the Cove in Seaside. A
LAPLAND LONGSPUR and 14 SNOW BUNTINGS were at the mouth of the Necanicum
River that day. A GYRFALCON was in Warrenton November 28.

Single ROSS'S GEESE were on Sauvie Island and near Junction city December 2.
An EMPEROR GOOSE was near McMinnville November 30.

On November 29 a BLACK PHOEBE was foraging at the Van Duzen Winery along
Smithfield Road near Baskett Slough NWR. The elusive GYRFALCON is still seen
occasionally about the refuge. Three LAPLAND LONGSPURS are now being seen
with the large HORNED LARK flock along Livermore Road north of Baskett
Slough. On November 29 four TURKEY VULTURES were over West Eugene. A late
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD is now coming to a feeder in Leaburg east of Springfield.

On December 3 a BOREAL OWL was heard calling on the north slope of Mt.
Pisgah in the Ochoco Mountains. It was near the trailhead of the Bridge
Creek Wilderness. On November 28 a flock of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were east of
Burns.
