The Washington State Wildlife Commission will be hearing testimony tomorrow
morning in Mt. Vernon on whether falconers should be allowed to take 5% of
nestling falcons from the wild to raise for falconry purposes.
Given that we don't yet know what impact west Nile virus has on wild falcon
populations, and for maybe many other reasons, birders might want to let
them know what you think. Email address for the commission is
commission at dfw.wa.gov They also have a website at
http://www.wa.gov/wdfw/com/comintro.htm . There is a article in today's
Seattle times about it if you want more info, it can be read online at
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/134589760_falcon05m.html.
