I made a brief visit to the Sewer Ponds today. No unusual species were
noted, but looking south from the south dike, I was surprised by the number
of Mourning Doves in the trees of Donna's driveway (Tropical Kingbird-2001).
I counted 66!

Are flocks of this number common in Western Washington in the winter?

Are they all local breeding birds, or have they come from somewhere else for
the winter?
