Birding under the great gray blanket that has covered the Lower Columbia Basin for 13 days was interesting.MerryLynn and I along with Gina and Garret Sharidan located the following species: 1 Merlin (sucklii) east of Iowa Beef, 1 Harris Sparrow (sub-ad.) and 2 White-throated Sparrows (tan striped) at Madam Dorion Park, 2 Lincoln Sparrows and an adult Swamp Sparrow along the birding path at McNary NWR,HQ. wALLA wALLA county is also a great area for gulls. On the Walla Walla River delta were 55 Dunlin, 1 Thayers Gull, 1 Mew Gull, 7 Glaucous-winged Gulls and several individuals of questionable genetic origins. Any Questions m.denny at charter.net
