Howdy,

Don't get me wrong here, I'm going to look for this bird today and tomorrow
BUT...what are we saying about the "countability" of this bird at Bowerman?
The very limited research I have done so far states that this bird is a rare
visitor to Alaska in SPRING! The now-infamous Paul Lehman Gambell fall of
2002 produced one bird but read the account:

"BEAN GOOSE Anser fabalis. Accidental visitor. One flew by the Point on 7
Sep 2002. As a spring visitor this species is rare to very rare in the
western Aleutians and casual farther east and north in the Bering Sea,
including at Gambell. In autumn, this represents only the second or third
record for the state"

Forget falconry, THIS is the discussion I'd like to read about!

Good birding.
