The Tacoma peregrines failed to hatch any of their eggs this year,
due to their nesting on the east counterweight (the nest box from
which they successfully fledged four eyasses the year before is
located on the west counterweight of the bridge). Apparantly, the
soil on the east counterweight is attractive to them, but it also
remains too wet, when it rains, for the eggs.

It is hoped that they can be induced to return to the nest box next
year. Stay tuned . . .
