PT. two:
Kristin Stewart, Gary Wiles and I checked this morning for the CBC sightings
of RED PHALAROPE and SWAMP SPARROW with no success. This was probably due
to my poor luck with SWSP in Washington...I find myself constantly saying,
"this is a perfect Swamp Sparrow location"-thereby eliminating any chance of
encountering this bird in the state. (See the Sullivan's latest success at
Bowerman, where I was heard muttering about SWSP twice last week on the
trail)

Anyhoo, for those interested in chasing either bird:

RED PHALAROPE-seen on the northern edge of Capitol Lake, accessed via
Deschutes Parkway. It was viewed near a small clump of trees jutting from
shore across from the construction site, I believe there is a bus vestibule
there also.

SWAMP SPARROW-from what I heard, it was further down Deschutes Parkway at
the corner of Deschutes and the street that goes uphill to the jail (?). We
checked there and near the railroad without success. Please correct my
directions if way off...quite possible due to fatigue at the dinner.
