Yes Kelly is quite right, the Yellow-headed Blackbird did not have a strange plumage but was with a flock of about 50 Red-winged Blackbirds. As for alternate interpretations, the bird was not associating with a group of Eurasian thrushes as another astute observer was kind enough to point out.
