Hi Tweeters,
I was in the Lake Wentachee area for a short amount of time yesterday and took my scope over to Fish Lake. The surprise bird of the day for me was one Long-tailed Duck. The lake had thin ice around the edges but had mostly open water. There were several inches of snow on the ground but the temperature was a moderate 42 degrees at that time. Besides the Long-tailed Duck there were about 18 Barrow's Goldeneye, 24 Bufflehead, 150 American Coot, 12 Mallard, 12 Ring-necked Duck, 6 Redhead and 1 female Ruddy Duck. There was also a Slate-colored Junco in the area.
