This is setting up to be a record busting year for over-
wintering BROWN PELICANS among other ocean-type species
that are usually gone by now.

On the Columbia Estuary Count:
118 Brown Pelicans
31 Northern Fulmar
3 Short-tailed Shearwaters
154 Red Phalaropes

Both Parasitic and Pomarine Jaeger were seen at Coos Bay
and a Pomarine was seen at Grays Harbor. A Forester's Tern
was reported from Tillamook.

To get a sense of the magnitude of this phenomenon, I'd
appreciate compilers sending their seabird numbers to me
as they become available (so we don't all have to wait 'til
June to see them). I'll set up a web page.
