Oooh, will add the Anacortes Donut House to my list! The donuts at
Marketime on Fremont Ave are pretty good too. Can't remember who bakes
'em, though. I start my "late" birding mornings w/one of their lattes
and a couple o' donuts. Good birder food, nice and filling. Have never
had Krispy Kremes, don't intend to make a special trip for 'em. Too
trendy for this birder! Must try Western Donuts next time out!

Obligatory birding content: My hope is that Mr. Bean will hang out 'til
Christmas or later, which is when I'll finally have a chance to head
south to scope him out.

Get well soon, Mike!

I don't mean to start an off topic thread, but hey, I've been home sick
with a fever all week (and still haven't seen the bean goose I might
add), so chock this message up to delerium.

I'm a die hard donut fan (A donut shop has even been featured in one of
my Christmas cards, but I won't digress any further.) and Connie's
message on starting a day of birding off with donuts reminded me that
the absolute best donut shop ever, hands down, is the Donut House in
Anacortes. It's on the right hand side of Commercial Avenue, the main
street that takes you into Anacortes from Highway 20. It puts the Cle
Elum Bakery to shame. (OK, they're pretty good, too.) So when you're
checking out Washington Park or the Cap Sante Marina, the Donut House is
definitely worth your while.
