Hey Tweets:

I accompanied Dan Varland and Suzanne Tomlinson on one of his raptor
surveys this morning (Tues) when we spotted a falcon on a rootwad. It was
plucking feathers on a Red Phalarope so we parked and set up our scopes
intent on determining if it was a banded or unbanded peregrine, then
realized it was a Prairie Falcon! That's a first for Dan's coastal raptors
survey, and it was certainly a surprise to see it on the beach. Does anyone
know how rare they are on the Washington coast? It was found 2.9 miles north
of the Quinault Resort & Casino at 9:10am.
