Subject: No Bean Goose Today - 18 Dec

Hello All,

Despite intensive searching between the K Street location, the west end of
the Bowerman Field runway and intermittent scans of the elementary and high
schools, I was unable to locate the Bean Goose today (18 Dec). I arrived
about 8:00 a.m. and ran the circuit regularly throughout the day in
generally favorable weather conditions. There were small flocks of "Dusky"
Canada Geese at K Street and at the field just west of the sewage ponds at
Bowerman Basin where the greatest concentration of geese remained throughout
the day. I suspect the bird may be still be around and, as I am a glutton
for punishment, would appreciate the continued reports (positive or
negative) over the next few days. It is quite possible that there is simply
another location where the bird is hanging out.

Numbers of RED PHALAROPES remained high with birds flying over the K Street
fields as well as foraging in the puddles there. There were also very good
numbers at the sewage ponds allowing for excellent close-up views.

Good Luck and Good Birding!
