Hello Tweets,

This afternoon my mother and I checked a few locations within the Tacoma area in preparation for tomorrows Tacoma CBC. We were able to locate a a few notable species in the Dash Point area and along S.R.509 south of the Tyee Marina that are somewhat noteworthy along with a few additional specoies found at other areas that we checked. We were unable to locate any Ancient Murrelets off Dash Point Park, where they were previously reported through late November,so it is probable they moved to locations futher north with a few single birds that may possibly linger in the area. A few noteworthy highlights we located this afternoon included the following:

1 Pacific Loon off Dash Point Park
1 male Eurasian Wigeon along S.R.509(Hylebos Waterway)
1 adult Cooper's Hawk at Tacoma Community College
1 Am.Kestrel along S.R.509 near Fife
1 Spotted Sandpiper along S.R.509(Hylebos Waterway)
5 Least Sandpipers along S.R.509(Hylebos Waterway)
5 Black Turnstones along S.R.509(Hylebos Waterway)
6+ Cedar Waxwings(with Am.Robins)foraging in Madrona trees along S.R.509 north of the Tyee Marina

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
