I feel so good that birders a still looking for the Bean Goose.We also was thinking of driving to Bay Center,where we always saw hundreds of Canada Goose sighted.But i think going to Hoquim now two times this week and talking to locals ,that the Goose might be still around close to K-Street going the oppisite from there thurs Aberdeen on the bay where there is a lot of privat land where no one can enter.I saw the Bean Goose late on the 17th around 3.30 to 4.00 PM.When i got to K-Street at 1.30 pm,there was no Bean Goose on K-Street.So i went to the Boardwalk where i met Charly and Carroll.There had the Bean Goose earlier on K-Street.But the Goose was not any way on the Airport.So when i went back late around 3.30 the Bean Goose was right in front of the pump station.So where was the Bean Goose all that time?
There was so many Canada Goose on Bowerman as not in previous days.If enough birders will look,i think maybe we will find this bird again.Should we put up a reward to find this bird?

Hello all,

Mike Donahue, Alan Grenon and I birded from the Hoquiam area south to Bay Center. We searched unsuccessfully for the Bean Goose in any fields we could think of between Hoquiam and Bay Center (an idea birders apparently had as well). We did encounter some great birds however (some of these were previously reported):

Red Phalarope - Hoquiam Sewage Treatment Facility- really great views of this species. Also several in the Ocosta area, east of Westport on Hwy 105.

American Bittern- Along Bay Center Dike Road heading toward Bay Center- forced to edge of the Palix River due to high water

Black Brant - First year bird at mile post 50 along Hwy 101 west of South Bend. Also 4 Snow Geese, and numerous Canada Geese of various races at same location.

White-tailed Kites- 5 between mile posts 51 and 52 on Hwy 101, west of South Bend. Also one just west of Aberdeen along Hwy 105 hunting over the closed ball fields north of the highway.
