Happy Holidays, Tweets!

Sorry for the late postings, but I thought they were worth mentioning. On
Christmas Eve, my father-in-law and I took a break from the festivities and
went birding around the Snoqualmie valley. Along W. Snoqualmie Valley Road,
at the area Mike Wile has labeled as "Pepper's Pond", we saw 12 Trumpeter
Swans along with numerous ducks (Am. Widgeon, Mallard, Bufflehead, etc).
During our jaunt, we also saw 5-6 GBH, 5-6 Red-tailed Hawks, and a raptor
that I could not ID fast enough. My very limited guess was a merlin. It
was raining most of the time, so I think most of the treasures were hiding
out.

On Christmas Day, my husband and I saw a pair of mature Bald Eagles sitting
together as physically close as possible. They were in a tree near the
124th Street Bridge that crosses the Snoqualmie River between W. Snoqualmie
Valley Rd. and Hwy 203. Needless to say, they were beautiful.
