I would have to agree with Ian that Dunlin on rocky
shore habitat is not that unusual at all. I also have
to say though that there was a definate Rock Sandpiper
in the flock of rockpipers at Duwamish head, just
about a month ago. With the markings of Rock
Sandpiper and the very plain looking Dunlin, as well
as the respective differences in color of bills and
legs, there should be little confusion this time of
year.
