Subject: Red Phalarope at Brady Loop Road Area

Greetings --

On the December 28 Satsop CBC, I was fortunate enough to be driving
south on the west leg of Brady Loop Road (Grays Harbor County) when a
Red Phalarope flashed in front of me and lighted on a ponded farm
field for less than a minute, but long enough to see the black eye
slash and the blunt, chunky (for a phalarope) bill on a vivid black-
grey-white body. Clearly this bird was blown in the 32 miles from the
coast (and more from its off-shore habitat) by the strong winds of
the day before.

Has anyone else seen Red Phalarope (or other pelagic species) on the
coast or inland as a result of the wind storm of the 27th?
