Obol and Tweeters,

Northern Flickers are damaging the house of a friend in Corvallis.
They are using an area under the eaves for a winter roost and have
done some excavating to make it more accomodating (easier to cling
to, etc.). He has tried strips of shiny metallic ribbon to keep them
away, to no avail. He has also used a hose to make them scatter, but
they still return. He would like to find a solution that doesn't
involve harm to the birds.

Any ideas? Anywhere else I should be posting this message?
