My yard, usually noisy with bird chatter was silent this afternoon and we were graced with the appearance of a Sharp-Shinned Hawk. Later, I ran over to the fresh water ponds at Golden Gardens and saw the requisite numbers of Mallards, but also a pair of Shovelers and a few American Wigeons.
