A week or so ago Linda and I watch Red Tails in Love, as I believe I posted here, flagrantly touching their cloaca's on top of a fir tree similar to the one in the photo. Like others I've seen them everywhere, but you're right, Rough-egged Hawks seem to like little sticks to perch on. There's one out at the Lummi Reservation that prefers the tops of what are little more than bare shrubs along the river and in the fields.
