.................Mike Patterson is correct about his comments on Western
Sandpipers------few and far between in the winter months, and.....mainly
on the coastal area. I spotted just just *3* together last weekend at
Long Beach, and they were with zillions of Dunlin and Sanderlings.
However, this doesn't preclude the *possibility* of some wandering
inland ocassionly.
................I too have, from time-to-time, been a "victim" of
mistaken identities. *Diplomatic* suggestions of mistaken IDs over
Tweeters, or....private contact by e-mail is best. But........in all
cases, most helpful hints and info. from fellow Tweeters or OBOLers has
been to me* tremendous* learning experiences for me, and.........I
wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you to all for all the corrective
comments, and *don't* stop it ever!!!! My pride might be hurt, but my
bird knowledge will be benefited.
...............Enough said on this topic by all, I think.
