Hello Tweets,

Today Dave Hayden, and my mother and I birded portions of northern Snohomish
Co. and Skagit Co. with several notable highlights. We ran into Ryan Shaw
and Charlie Wright along Tholme Rd.,south of Stanwood as we search for the
Northern Mockingbird from 8am-9am, then again at 3:30pm, but with NO luck.
We were joined again by Ryan and Charlie at the Skagit WMA headquarters
after 10am where we encountered our best highlight of the day, being 4 PINE
GROSBEAKS along the western portion of the loop trail. We also ran into Jim
Flynn and others at two seperate locations with added help from them for
finding a few more notable species for the day. Good numbers of Snow Geese,
Tundra Swans, and relatively high numbers of shorebirds consisting of mainly
Dunlin, with far lesser numbers of Black-bellied Plovers were noted in
several areas in both counties. The weather was fairly pleasant, except for
occasional moderate winds at times in the Samish Flats, but otherwise calm
birding conditions.Several other highlights that were noted during the day
