Hi Tweeters:
Here's a couple of reports of birds seen Sat (yesterday) afternoon in South
King County.
I was at the mouth of the Cedar River in Renton. There were many
Glaucous-winged Gulls, and Gl-w X Western Hybrids, only one adult Thayer's
Gull, 3 Herring Gulls, and several Ring-billed Gulls. A Peregrine Falcon
was sitting on the sand bar, and flew up to the top of one of the big Boeing
bldgs. Bald Eagles flew by several times. Mew Gulls were out in the lake.
Over near Coulon Park, quite close to the little duck island, there was an
Eared Grebe.
A birding friend stopped by Smith Bros Dairy which is on 277th west of
I-167. From 277th, looking north across the main flooded field, there were
4 Eurasian Wigeon. A little farther south, on 285th just east of W. Valley
Rd, there were 3 more Eurasian Wigeon. They were in large wigeon flocks.
She said there was also a Killdeer pair mating and displaying.
