I went out on this remarkably spring-like morning to Brownsmead.
Most noteable were the WHITE-TAILED KITES, 4 all tolled. The
courting pair are still present at Bughole Rd. Single birds
were also seen near the Brownsmead grange and at Pentilla Rd.

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was with about 20 GOLDEN-CROWNS and at
least that many OREGON JUNCOS in the blackberries on the dike at
the end of Bughole Rd.

The the most interesting sight, however, was a RACOON swimming
across Blind Slough below the Barendse Rd Bridge. I don't know
why he chose swimming rather than using the bridge....
