Just a quick note to say that I heard a Junco singing his heart out this
morning! I had been wondering when they might start up again, as I'm pining
for some spring-like weather and birds!! I'm glad to see Mike Patterson's
reports of southern-Oregon hummer sightings, and can't wait for the first
reports to pop up from Washington areas.

Also a note about a trip Gary Wiles and I made last Wednesday for the
Emperor Goose near Raymond, WA. We did see six Western Sandpipers with
about 20 Dunlin on the rocky shore of the Willipa River near the South Bend
dock with the Veteran's Memorial carving. It was really informative to
compare the two side-by-side. The road that the Sullivan's posted their
first relocation of the Emperor Goose is also a private road (at least
according to a resident who stopped to see what we were doing). It does
have a regular-looking street sign, but I guess it has been converted to a
private residence drive and the city hasn't done anything about the sign.
SO...you might need to scan from 105. But before the resident stopped us,
we did see a White-throated Sparrow in with a large number of
Golden-crowneds.
