BANDING REPORT- Neawanna Wetland Preserve
02-12-2002

Method: Up to eight 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Winter sparrow efforts will place special emphasis on identifying
FOX SPARROWS, SONG SPARROWS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS to
subspecies.

Notes: It was a beautiful morning, but sparrow activity was low.
We saw only 1 FOX SPARROW in close to 3 hours of observation time.
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS are fattening up, presumably in preparation
for their quickly approaching departure time.
