WA SNOWY OWLS -

At least 4 SNOWY OWLS are residing near Reardan and Davenport in eastern WA.

On 9 Feb 2 SNOWY OWLS were reported by Joyce Alonso and Gina Sheridan. Both
birds were along Morrison Road between Ziemer and Janett Roads. At least 250
SNOW BUNTINGS were also in this same area. They also saw another SNOWY OWL
along the Sunset Highway 0.5 miles east of the intersection with Mondovi
Road. On 10 Feb Matthew Moskwik reports 2 SNOWY OWLS along Bennett Road. On
12 Feb Jean Klingbiel and Gail Fields report 2 SNOWY OWLS along Detour Road
near WA 231, another along Janett Road, and another along Morrison Road. WA
DeLorme 87, C-8 and 88, C-1.

More owls, this time in the Lewiston ID - Clarkston WA valley...

At Swallows Park in Clarkston on 10 Feb Carole Vande Voorde reports seeing a
single BARN OWL and a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL. The Saw-whet is right over the
picnic table near the playground. Swallows Park is along WA 129 and the
Snake River on the south side of town. Also here on 13 Feb were 2 EURASIAN
WIGEONS according to Scott Ray. WA DeLorme 43, AB-8. Carole also reports a
NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL at Spalding Park about 10 miles east of Lewiston along
US 95 (ID DeLorme 54, A-1) and another NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL at the Fish and
Game wildlife area on Warner Street in Lewiston.

The RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER at Rooks Park on the east side of Walla Walla,
Walla Walla Co WA, first seen 3 Feb by Ginger and Rodger Shoemaker, was seen
on 10 Feb by Ken Knittle and again on 13 Feb by Scott Ray. Check near the
restrooms.

About 10 TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS were just north of Othello, Adams Co WA on 2
Feb according to Bob Flores. Bob found the birds in a cattle feeding area
next to Para Lake, which is bisected by McManaman Road north of town. Ken
Knittle reports seeing one on 10 Feb. WA DeLorme 53, B-7.
