In yesterday's beautiful weather, I checked out the great blue heron colony
at NW 91st and 28th, in the North Beach Natural Area. In the period before
sunset, there were about 8 herons on or near 14 nests.

This is a relatively new colony, and is very difficult to observe once the
trees leaf out.
