Has anyone else noticed the large numbers of dead or ailing siskins? My 10-year old bilateral-knee-replacement dog has brought home several dead ones (so I can safely assume she isn't catching them on the wing) and now one didn't move when I put out a feeder right next to him. At my office I have also found a few dead in the area around my bird feeders.
I am keeping my feeders very clean and replacing food regularly--I guess I can only hope feeding them improves their chances of surviving this blight. My husband, Kirk, says others on Tweeters have noted this but I can't find the messages.
