Tweets,
Upon recieving word from Michael Dossett and the two california birders he was with that they had an EMPIDONAX SP near Rosyln yesterday, I tried to relocate it today without success. When they picked me up in ellensburg shortly after this, their description best fit DUSKY FLYCATCHER. The location of this bird was if you take the Rosyln exit, #80 off of I-90 go north from the offramp and head up the trends west ridge road on the left shortly after you exit I-90. The bird was roughly about 2 miles up this road. I did however have a fairly good sighting of my own though. Just up the road from this area I had 8 White-winged Crossbills fly over, calling. There was also a pygmy owl in the area. I'll let Michael post on the details of the empid sp when he gets a chance.
As for the rest of the day yesterday (2/16):
Highlights were:
1 BURROWING OWL on the right-hand shoulder of the eastbound off ramp to moses lake st park. There is a wooden T-bar next to the location.
3 SNOWY OWL along Jannett rd, south of Hwy.2, east of Davenport.
250+ Snow Buntings in the same area
~50 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in Davenport, in the northwest corner of town, I don't remember the exact street location.
And the Electric City HOARY REDPOLL wasn't there and apparently hasn't shown up for about a week or more. There were a few Common Redpolls there.

A very odd day to have Burrowing owl, Snow Bunting and Owl, Redpolls and an empid sp in eastern washington in the same day!

Good birding all.
