The highlight of a Yakima Valley Audubon Society fieldtrip to the Sequim
area this weekend was a loose group of oddly silent Barn Swallows (8-10)
seen coursing about open fields on Schmuck Road east of Sequim 17 February.
Needless to say, I was quite surprised, though I guess I shouldn't have
been, given the spate of observations reported through this winter in the
Pacific Northwest.
