Featured birds are WESTERN SCRUB-JAY and BARN SWALLOW

Sightings for Sunday, February 17th

The WESTERN SCRUB-JAY was again reported in the 1900 block of Routley
Ave in Port Coquitlam.

At the Reifel Refuge the following birds were reported:
1 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, 3 BARN SWALLOWS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS,
1 AMERICAN BITTERN and 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS.

In a field at 80th and LaFever Rd in Langley 30 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS were
reported.

Sightings for Saturday, February 18th

A HARRIS' SPARROW was found at 5857 17 A Ave in Tsawwassen. Also here was a
LINCOLN'S SPARROW, 1 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER.

A BARN SWALLOW was seen at the southern foot of 41B St between the Coal Port
Jetty
and the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty. Along Highway 17 was an AMERICAN KESTREL.

On the Inner Ponds at Iona Island a male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was
found with a flock of RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS.

Along the Semiamooh Trail a male REDHEAD and RING-NECKED DUCK were
found in a pond.

In Langley at 25335 and 80th Ave was 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE.

In Coquitlum in the 1300 block of Corvan St a male PINE GROSBEAK has been
coming to
a feeder for the past few days.

At Camosun Bog in Pacific Spirit Park at UBC a male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was
reported.

In Chilliwack along Prest Rd 1 quarter mile south of Maguire Rd was a grey
morph
GYRFALCON.

Sightings for Thursday, February 14th

Out of town the LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL continues to be
seen at the mouth of Vernon Creek in Okanogan Landing.

At Jericho Park 1 COMMON REDPOLL and 2 CEDAR WAXWINGS
were reported.

At Canoe Pass was 1 adult NORTHERN SHRIKE. Meanwhile at
Centennial Beach an immature NORTHERN SHRIKE was also seen.

Sightings for Wednesday, February 13th

A 1st winter plumaged GLAUCOUS GULL was seen along 72nd St.

At Blackie Spit in White Rock a MARBLED GODWIT was reported

Sightings for Tuesday, February 12th

Out of town a GREAT GRAY OWL was found late in the day
in the Ryder Lake area of Chilliwack. The bird was at 47330
Extrum Rd.

Continuing out of town the LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL
was again seen at the mouth of Vernon Creek in Okanogan Landing.

Locally there were no reports of the HOARY REDPOLL today.

At the Point Roberts Marina was 1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE.

>From the end of the White Rock Pier the following birds were reported:
1 EARED GREBE, 1 WESTERN GULL and 1000 PACIFIC LOONS.

At the top of Burnaby Mounatin the 3 PINE GROSBEAKS were again reported.

Sightings for Monday, February 11th

The male HOARY REDPOLL was seen sporadically throughout the
day at Jericho Park. This bird was with 50 COMMON REDPOLLS
on the upper east side of the park. Also here were 2 HUTTON'S VIREOS.

A single COMMON REDPOLL was seen just north-west of the Lougheed Mall.

At the Reifel Refuge the following birds were reported: 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS,
3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and 1 AMERICAN BITTERN
