Sightings for Monday, February 18th
The HARRIS' SPARROW was again seen in a field along 17 A Ave and 58th St in
Tsawwassen.
Also here were 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS and 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.
At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary the following birds were reported:
2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES, 8-10 BARN SWALLOWS, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN,
2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER,
2 GREAT HORNED OWLS and 1 HUTTON'S VIREO.
An immature MERLIN was seen in a yard in the 3000 block of Cambridge St
North Burnaby.
Sightings for Sunday, February 17th
The WESTERN SCRUB-JAY was again reported in the 1900 block of Routley
Ave in Port Coquitlum.
At the Reifel Refuge the following birds were reported:
1 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, 3 BARN SWALLOWS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS,
1 AMERICAN BITTERN and 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS.
At Burns Drive a 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL was prsent with many gulls in the
fields.
In a field at 80th and LaFever Rd in Langley 30 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS were
reported.
Sightings for Saturday, February 18th
A HARRIS' SPARROW was found at 5857 17 A Ave in Tsawwassen. Also here was a
LINCOLN'S SPARROW, 1 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER.
A BARN SWALLOW was seen at the southern foot of 41B St between the Coal Port
Jetty
and the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty. Along Highway 17 was an AMERICAN KESTREL.
On the Inner Ponds at Iona Island a male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was
found with a flock of RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS.
Along the Semiamooh Trail a male REDHEAD and RING-NECKED DUCK were
found in a pond.
In Langley at 25335 and 80th Ave was 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE.
In Coquitlam in the 1300 block of Corvan St a male PINE GROSBEAK has been
coming to
a feeder for the past few days.
At Camosun Bog in Pacific Spirit Park at UBC a male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was
reported.
In Chilliwack along Prest Rd 1 quarter mile south of Maguire Rd was a grey
morph
GYRFALCON.
