After listening to the incredible recording of possible "raps" or drums at
the search site (at http://www.zeiss.com), I remembered seeing David
Attenborough's use of a rock to rap on a trunk, successfully calling in a
pair of Magellanic Woodpeckers. I wondered if the Louisiana team tried this
when they were in potential Ivory-billed habitat. I have had some success
with this technique myself with Hairy and Pileated Woodpeckers.
