Drove to Chief Timothy State Park area (Wash. DeLorme Atlas p. 43, A-7)
this afternoon and among other species, saw a WESTERN SCRUB JAY! To the
best of my knowledge it is the first record for Asotin County, and may even
be for this corner of the state.

It was located just east of Chief Timothy State Park lagoon. To reach the
spot, park in the small parking area on the north side of US Hwy 12 just
east of the east end of the lagoon, and walk the trail through raspberry
bushes, then grassland to the trees at the east end of a second smaller
lagoon. I saw the bird as I hiked east, and again later when I returned by
the same spot, so it seemed easy enough to find, at least this afternoon.
