I returned yesterday from a three day trip to the Okanagan and Waterville Plateau areas.
Some of the highlights of the trip for me were 6 Redhead ducks and 18 Common Merganzers on Osoyoos Lake. I did not cross the border. A Cooper's Hawk in a tree just north of Tonasket on Hwy 97. A flock of 50+ Bohemian Waxwing with 1 Cedar Waxwing at the T intersection of Grange Rd. and Washburn Rd. on the north side of Bridgeport. A Prairie Falcon at the T intersection of N. Division and 20NW/20NE north of Mansfield.

A stop in Cle Elum on the way back netted a first sighting of the year for me of 6 Evening Grosbeak at 403 Oakes Ave. This is the last house on the left before the street turns to the left and goes sharply uphill. The EVGR were in the top a large willow tree. There were 6 Pine Grosbeak at the corner of 3rd and Oakes Ave. All 6 birds were of the yellow or russet with gray plumage.
