Good day Tweeters,
As I watched the usual birds at the sunflower feeder, in the nearby pine
and on the ground this morn I was looking closely, at what I assume were 4 or
5 Purple Finches, when a new bird arrived.
The new/mystery bird looked similar to the Purple Finch males except that
instead of deep rose to pink shades it was yellow to near gold on the top of
it's head, no obvious streaking on belly, no cross bill.
The bird, unfortunately, looked ill to me. A little fluffed-out, closed
his eyes often. He flew to the feeder a few times then back to the Pine and
after a few minutes, he was gone.
Who was this bird? A yellow variant? Very exciting, regardless.
Would appreciate comments, opinions. Wishing I had a digital camera.

Peace to us all
Germaine
