To add to Lee Rentz' evaluation of image stabilization
technology:

I have used the Canon 10x30 image stabilizer binoculars
for about 2-1/2 years and I really like them. It almost
feels like cheating, because the field marks are so much
easier to see than with the other non-IS binoculars I've
used.

Through no intelligence of my own (thought they were
lost, replaced 'em, found the first pair) I now have 2
pair. If anybody wants to bird with me and borrow them,
let me know, off-line.
