Ecola State Park 2/24/2002

The COMMON MURRES are now staging off the rocks at Ecola
State Park. About 20% are stilll in basic plumage.

A FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL was flying around just past the
big rock from Ecola Point. Most storm-petrel sightings from
the north Oregon coast (not counting pelagic boat trips) fall
into a window from late-February to early-April.

Aside from the storm-petrel and all the murres, it was pretty
quiet on the ocean.
