Featured Bird is SLATY-BACKED GULL

Sightings for Sunday, February 24th

The adult SLATY-BACKED GULL was again present this morning
with a 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL along Hornby Dr east of 96th St.

At Holly Park Lane in North Surrey were a total of 40 COMMON REDPOLLS.

At the Semiamooh Trail Pond in South Surrey were 3 RING-NECKED DUCKS
and one REDHEAD.

At Iona Island was a SHORT-EARED OWL.

At Lighthouse Park in Point Roberts Washington the following birds were
reported:
2 MARBLED MURRELETS, 1 RHINOCEROS AUKLET, a few PIGEON GUILLEMOTS
and a few COMMON MURRES.

The pair of CRESTED MYNAS were again reported from 2nd and Wylie in
Vancouver.

Sightings for Saturday, Febrauary 23th

An adult SLATY-BACKED GULL was present with 1000's of gulls at 96th St &
Hornby Drive
in Delta.

The HARRIS' SPARROW and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were again reported
at 17A Ave and 58th St in Tsawwassen.

At the Reifel Refuge the following birds were reported:
10 BARN SWALLOWS, 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS, 2 HUTTON'S VIREOS,
2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES, 1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW, 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE,
1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.

At the far west end of River Road at Brunswick Point was an AMERICAN TREE
SPARROW.

Along Delta Port Way near 41 B St was an AMERICAN KESTREL.

At Iona Island an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER and a male EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED
TEAL
were reported.

At 2nd and Wylie in Vancouver the 2 CRESTED MYNAS were again reported.

On an outing south of the border in the Blaine area of Washington the
following
birds were reported:
-An immature YELLOW-BILLED LOON was reported near the Marina along Marine
Dr.
-Over 1500 PACIFIC LOONS and 25 BLACK BRANT were seen in the Semiamooh Bay
area.
- And at the end of the Crab Pier in Blaine there were 2 EARED GREBES and 1
MARBLED GODWIT.
