Greetings All,

Tom Aversa and I birded the Ridgefield/Vancouver Lake/Woodland area of SW
Washington today. Pretty decent weather, except for the gusty winds which
kept passerines down for most of the day. Highlights were in the goose
variety.

1 Brant in with Cackler's at the River S Unit of Ridgefield.

4 Snow Geese in with Canadas at the River S Unit.

1 possible Blue phase Snow Goose at River S Unit. Saw the head and neck and
front of the body for a time, but the rest of the bird was obscured, and
then the whole flock took off before we could confirm it as a Blue Goose and
eliminate possible hybrid..

1 adult Ross's Goose at Post Office Lake along Lower River Road west of
Vancouver.

Everything else was pretty slow, but still a pleasant day to be out in the
field.
Cheers and Good Birding
Ryan Shaw
