Thursday, December 27th, 1:57PM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow, just got a
call from a Dennis Jones, who reports a CATTLE EGRET near the Gyrfalcon area,
just east of Snohomish. Take Lincoln, east from Snohomish, it leaves off to
the SE part of town. You then go under a RR bridge, over the PIlchuck River,
then the gyrfalcon field with its couple of large isolated trees appear on
your right. Shortly thereafter you go over French Creek and the bird was on
the northside of the road, following a tractor there today. Thats it and
good birding.

Thursday, December 27th, 3:01PM. Hi, this is Alan Knue. Today at the
Washington Park Arboretum, I had about 65 COMMON REDPOLLS on Marsh Island.
The easiest access point for these birds is the parking lot near the Museum
of History and Industry. Just take the Marsh Is trail across to the island
and they were on the far end, which is the eastern end of the island.

Friday, December 28th, 7:18AM. Hi Tom Aversa, in case anyone is interested
in looking for the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, it was up there in Twisp,
yesterday. I saw it at the feeder in the trailer park, #62, and a lot of
other birds were in the area also. Headed for Bridgeport today looking for
the reported BRAMBLING without luck. However, there were quite a few
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in that area (hundreds). Birded the Wells area and found a
HARRIS'S SPARROW out there, pair of TRUMETER SWANS, good numbers of sparrows,
and one PURPLE FINCH in an old orchard.

Friday, December 28th, 2:02PM. This is Rachel Lawson (206) 282-5593, today
at 11:45-12:15, I saw the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER at the Barger Rd location
in Twisp.

Friday, December 28th, 2:10PM. Hi, this is Alan Knue, today at the
Washington Park Arboretum, at the same location as yesterday, Alan Grenan and
I had about 30-40 COMMON REDPOLLS in the birches at the eastern end of Marsh
Island.

Saturday, December 29th, 5:37PM. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox System
Administrator, today Bruce Jones reports that he saw a flock of 100 COMMON
REPOLLS on Foster Island between 12-1:30PM.

Saturday, Demember 29th, 6:06PM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow. Today Kevin
Anerud and I birded around Stanwood and the north end of Camano Island. The
main highlight of the day was a MOCKINGBIRD, the same bird found by Marcus
Roening. About a month ago, Jim Flynn actually found it before us and gave
us directions. Take Marine View Drive south of Stanwood, go west on Thomle
Rd and the second or third mailbox says "Brown" on the mailbox. The bird was
foraging in the front yard, hoping around on the ground. Also nearby at the
end of Bow Rd we had a GREAT EGRET flying along the dike, and a HARRIS'S
SPARROW, and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were also nearby. For these two birds,
go to Norman Rd and head east from Marine View Drive, shortly you will go
over a bridge on a small creek, park there and "pish" the blackberry brambles
that run along the northside of the road and the westside of the creek.
Elsewhere we had 35 EARED GREBES in Ustalady Bay, and in the Maple Grove area
of Camano Island we had 105 COMMON REDPOLLS. At the entrance to the Stanwood
sewage treatment plant we also had 15 more COMMON REDPOLLS. Thats it and
good birding!

Sunday, December 30th, 4:26PM. Hi, this is Russ Copenheir, the BLACK PHOEBE
was at the Julia Butler Hansen NWR just west of Cathlamet, Wa. It was around
the headquarters building between 1 and 2PM. I left at 2PM and it was still
there. A BARN SWALLOW was also at this site.
