.................In my posting of yesterday I spoke of the hugh amounts
of ducks and geese seen at Sacramento, Calif. wildlife refuges----like
non other!!!!
.................Well, got to thinking---- there *is* one other location
that I have seen even *more* ducks at one time than the above. At two
different occasions in the past several years I have visited Tule Lake
and Lower Klamath Basin NWRs, Oregon, in the spring (Mar and April),
and..........during the spring migratory staging time at Lower Klamath
NWR, the ducks are so numerous as to be "mind-boggling"---thousands and
thousands!!! They even spill over unto the auto tour roadways----walking
in the road itself. Other than the beautiful snow-capped mountains and
the arriving White Pelicans, the ponds are "a sea of ducks" as far as
the eye can see!!!!!!
................A "must see" place to visit in the spring. Of course, we
are talking of the *Pacific Northwest* area here. Places like Bosque del
Apache in New Mex. and Salton Sea NWR in Calif., I'm sure, are legends
for sure numbers in their own rite.
