My husband and I saw a flock of appx 50 C. Redpolls on Swauk Prairie this
morning. They were feeding with a flock of appx 40 Horned Larks. It was a
nice start to 2002.

To end 2001 we followed the directions for the burrowing owl site sent by
Sherry Hagen and found 1 owl at the site. Follow I-90 east to Exit 151
(Ephrata). It is on the south side of the freeway in the circle formed by the
on/off ramp. It was sitting between a mostly buried culvert and a post.

Good birding in 2002!
