It looks like the live mealworms are an unqualified success, while the
dehydrated ones are being ignored. He was here at daybreak, about 6:30,
quite incensed that I was taking so long getting all my feeders filled.
Once I cleared out, he was chowing. Was around a lot all day, came in every
15 minutes or so, and didn't leave until sundown. Did some web-surfing last
night, found a site called Rainbow Mealworms (www.rainbowmealworms.com) that
seems to have good prices on live worms, and guarantees live delivery. Will
probably place an order as soon as I finish this. So far, the Warbler is
the only one really interested in them, although I thought I saw a Pine
Siskin eating some a couple of times.

Had a new visitor today, a Slate Colored Junco made a brief appearance.
Don't know how unusual they are, but it's the first time I've seen one.

For anyone planning a trip, bear in mind we got 4 inches or so of new snow
since yesterday, with more in the forecast. Roads are probably slushy, if
the temp drops much it'll get rough and icy.

Noticed in today's Tweeters digest lots of bird of the year and first bird
posts. I guess it's obvious, but BOY for me has to be the Warbler, even if
someone else got all the credit for first sighting (grrrr!) First bird I'm
not so sure about, my feeder was very busy when I got up on the 1st.
Probably an American Goldfinch.
