Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday January 3. If you have anything to add call

A BRAMBLING is now coming to a feeder north of Burns at the junction of
Foley Drive and Lone Pine Road. The feeder can be seen from the roadway.

On December 29 a male and a female GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE were in the
Wal-Mart parking lot in Ontario. A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK is coming to a
feeder in Medford.

On December 29 a GYRFALCON, 14 PALM WARBLERS, and 14 LAPLAND LONGSPURS
were at Cape Blanco. A COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was also in the area. On
December 30 an EMPEROR GOOSE and a WHIMBREL were at Bandon. A
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT is now being seen in Florence. A YELLOW-BILLED LOON
was at the mouth of the Siuslaw River December 24. Two HERMIT WARBLERS
were in Cannon Beach last week-end. A male TUFTED DUCK is now at the
Astoria Sewage Ponds.

A MOCKINGBIRD is now near northeast 20th. and Prescott Street in
Portland. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was on the north side of Oswego Lake
December 29. The Beaverton COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD continues to be seen. A
flock of 50 CANVASBACKS and one REDHEAD were at the Fernhill Wetlands in
Forest Grove December 30. A male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK is now coming to a
feeder in Boring.

The Livermore Road GYRFALCON is still being seen north of Baskett Slough
NWR. Single BURROWING OWLS are now at Minto-Brown Park in Salem and along
Smithfield Road in Baskett Slough NWR. Two are now at the junction of
Blueberry Road and Linn County Road 211 northeast of Halsey. Sixty-two
TRUMPERTER SWANS are now in the Monmouth/Airlie area. On January 1 the
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen again near Tangent. That day a SAY'S
PHOEBE was seen near Brownsville.

The December 30 Eugene Count found a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, a NASHVILLE
WARBLER, a CASSIN'S FINCH, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 3 OSPREYS, 5 VULTURES, a
PACIFIC LOON, and seven SHORT-EARED OWLS. A ROSS'S GOOSE was near Fern
Ridge Reservoir December 31, and a BRANT and eight SNOW GEESE were there
January 1.

REDPOLLS weere noted during the week near Camp Sherman, Bend, Prineville,
and Klamath Falls. A MOCKINGBIRD and three BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in Bend
December 30. A female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was near Prineville December
31. On January 1, a WESTERN GULL, a THAYER'S GULL, a MEW GULL, and a
PACIFIC LOON were at McNary Dam.
