I don't know if there's been discussion on Tweeters as to how these
parakeets, whatever they are, got here.

I saw and heard them again today in Seward Park and I have a theory: someone
bought a pair somewhere locally as a present, noting their good looks but
not hearing them. Bringing them home (or wherever), this person must quickly
have regretted their purchase upon the discovery that they are as shrill and
as loud as the jets touching down on a Sea-Tac runway. I would guess that
these birds "escaped" from whatever new home they'd been brought to through
a mysteriously opened window or door within an hour of their arrival. I know
that's what I'd have done, after documenting their species, of course!
