Yesterday I saw a dark morph Harlan's Hawk along Hwy 20, a few miles east of
Sedro Wooley (sorry, I didn't get a milepost). It was solid, dark brown
with white "flecks" throughout (juvenile?). It was perched in leafless
alder trees beside the highway, scanning the grassy shoulder.

My wife and I floated the Skagit river from Marblemount to Rockport with a
group of friends in canoes and counted 86 bald eagles from the river.
