Mike Schroeder has completed the compiling for the Grand Coulee CBC. A
total of 86 species was seen, with 5 new ones: Wild Turkeys, Band-tailed
Pigeons, White-throated Sparrow, Clark's Grebe and Hoary Redpoll. Also,
only seen on count week once before, one St. Jay. Previous high count
was 85 species. THANKS to all those who came to help. A reporter joined
one group for part of the day. Maybe after the locals read the article we
will have some of them participate next year. Meredith P.S. Richard
Hendrick and I went to see the Hoary today, and observed it along with Marv
Breece and Ken Knittle. It was raining and windy and nasty. Never
thought of counting the C. Redpolls, but seems like more were present than
the Sullivans saw. Lots of Goldfinches, and one Song Sparrow.
